Three generations, one home

CLIENTS OF LESS ARNOLD: A Series Chronicling a Career of Service to Clients in Real Estate, Volume IV

This past summer I met a wonderful family that had long been searching for a new Boston home to accommodate both their growing family and frequently visiting in-laws. Their multi-year journey had taken them through several agents, not to mention property types and neighborhoods.

We quickly ascertained that a single family wasn't really the right fit -- though a multi-family, ideally one that was recently renovated, would be the ideal solution. A traditional property search turned up nothing suitable initially, no surprise in a tight market, so I got to work.

In the span of a few weeks, I came up with four separate off-market options for them to consider. Each with multiple units, each in the throws of total gut renovation. This holiday season marks their first as a family in their new homes -- an adjacent triplex and duplex on a coveted Back Bay Street. The new baby -- and first grandchild -- didn't have to wait long. Best of all, the family was able to move into their new home for the holidays.
